Scary thought of the day: consider the possibility that Trump’s immigration/refugee order is so messed up because he simply doesn’t care, at all, about the issue. He doesn’t care about the people who may be in the way or harmed.He’s playing a game, and we are meaningless pieces.
 
What he cares about are the fears that he furthered in many Americans about refugees. He needs to keep those fears alive, and show that he is with them. He cares about fulfilling a meaningless (if nothing happens) and/or potentially very harmful (if it goes through, there will be repercussions both her and internationally) And he loves the fact that people come out and talk about him — and if they criticize him he’ll just fight back, and use that to pump up his base.
 
To many of us, words have meaning. Trump has proved that this doesn’t apply to him, and he revels in it. Listen to what he means, not what he says.
We can’t read Trump’s mind, so we really don’t know. But the idea above is unfortunately consistent with what we do know about his personality. And it’s a lot scarier than the fear that he is peddling.
